Christopher D. Hubbard
Maintenance Manager, Temple Inland
"In the past several years while doing business with Steve and his crew at 460 Machine Shop, I have had nothing but good remarks for all the services they have offered. They have made quality repairs at a reasonable rate in a timely fashion, which has allowed me to plan jobs on my terms, for I know the parts will be right the first time with no problems."
Plant Engineer, Metl-Span
"During my 4 years as Plant Engineer at Metl-Span East I have had the pleasure to do business with Steve and Sandra for over 3 of those years. They have always gone to great lengths to help us out when machines were down or just to make parts for an upcoming project. They have always been able to do anything from close tolerance parts to complete fabrication of machinery and still meet the deadline and budgets that I required. It's a very nice feeling to know a vendor that you can always count on."

460 Machine Company was started in 1997 after owner and machinist, Steve Westermann, received news that his current position as R&D machine shop manager at Reynolds Metals Company would soon succumb to corporate downsizing. Seeking a more stable atmosphere, he started a small machine shop from the back of 460 Cycle Company, a motorcycle repair shop in Disputanta, VA. Soon he outgrew that space and moved to his current location at 3830-A Corporate Road, just off Rives Road in Petersburg, VA. Steve brings over 25 years of vast machining experience with him.
We strive to provide our customers with a level of service that not only meets their needs but exceeds their expectations in price, delivery, and quality.
We strive to add value to our customers' operations and to build relationships that are beneficial and enjoyable to us and to our customers.
As a corporation, we recognize that our most valuable resource, in life, as well as in business, is people.
It is our goal to help people achieve their personal and professional goals.
It is our true desire to help make the lives of the people we share a community with better because we are here.
